What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Contact & enquiry forms
We collect and store (minimal) information about users through genoayachting.com contact forms (only if used).
The data is provided by the user and includes the name, email and/or telephone (optional). This information is used for communication between the website and the user. It’s not shared with anyone (other users, third parties etc.).
The only piece of information that is stored without user input is his/her IP address (only on contact & enquiry forms). The IP is logged and stored along with the user’s name, email and message, only to be used by the administrator(s) of Genoa Yachting.
The user’s email and IP address are never published.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics. Google Analytics is a service (by Google) that tracks and reports website traffic and provides important information about website visitors (that’s you). Whenever someone visits a website that uses Google Analytics (like genoayachting.com), Google tracks Information like how the visitor came to the site, what pages were visited, what type of computer he/she used (e.g. laptop, smartphone, etc.) and much more.
This information is important because it allows website owners and publishers (that’s us) to better understand which users visit our site and what content they are interested in. This is essential in order to improve the design and content of genoayachting.com.
Google Analytics data is non-personally identifiable information, we’re not sharing it with third parties and it’s strictly used for genoayachting.com optimization and improvement. If you want to prevent the use of your data from Google Analytics, Google provides a browser add-on (more info).

We use cookies for the following:
- User activity stats. These cookies collect information about how visitors use our site in order to optimize it and provide a better user experience. For example, they allow us to see which pages are popular among visitors, let us know if users experience problems while navigating the site, etc. These statistics are centralized, therefore anonymous.
- Facilitate navigation and interaction with the site. For example, you can save your name, email, etc. when you use the contact and enquiry forms, so you do not have to enter them each time.
- Google Analytics. Google uses first-party cookies to report on visitor (aka. user) interactions on websites that use Google analytics (like genoayachting.com). You can prevent your data from being used by Google Analytics via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Protection from abuse and/or spam. For example, we use Google reCAPTCHA on contact forms (Google privacy policy), as well as Akismet in contact and comment forms.
